Real World Experience

ElevaCare provides a face-to-face elevated, paid Internship Program for individuals completing their Undergraduate or Graduate in an accredited social work, psychology, human services, or related field. Our specialized program provides students a chance to become connected through our agency in various ways while educating them with practical skillsets and competency in real world challenges. Students will have a solid foundation going into their future endeavors of mental health.

  • Undergraduate Level Students will have the opportunity to work in several departments within the agency including Unity House, ARMHS, CTSS, Targeted-Case Management and Assertive Community Treatment (ACT). Students will have a deepened comprehension of our care coordination model and the holistic wellbeing of each individual we serve.

    Requirements:

    • Enrolled in social work, psychology, human services, or related field
    • Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings
    • Complete hours at agency location
  • Graduate Level Students will be exposed to a variety of services and experiences within a diverse population. These services include diagnostic assessments, functional assessments, level of care determination, case management and treatment of individuals, families and groups. Our program is designed to provide foundational training in the following:

    • Psychiatric evaluation
    • Medication testing
    • Psychological testing
    • Telephone, on-site, and mobile face-to-face
    • Mental health crisis response services
    • Adult intensive residential treatment

    Requirements:

    • Enrolled in an accredited Master's Level Program
    • Attend and participate in clinical staff meetings and trainings
    • Complete supervised hours at agency location
  • Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Students will receive a unique and hands-on mentoring clinical experience working with both outpatient and inpatient programs at ElevaCare. Various structures will be taught in assessing and diagnosing mental health, psychiatric concerns and prescribing/med management. NP students will work in collaboration with an integrative care team including therapists, social workers, and other human service related fields to provide pertinent diagnostic treatments for each client.

    Requirements:

    • Enrolled in a Master's Level Program
    • Complete supervised hours at agency location

Applicants are accepted on a rolling bases throughout the year. Spots are limited, so we encourage you to apply at least 6 months prior to your desired placement start date. Start dates are determined by applicant needs and academic program requirements.
